Ngadjuri to receive consent determination 

On Thursday, the Ngadjuri people will be granted their second native title consent determination, marking the end of a claim that began in 2011.

All are welcome to attend this historic occasion at the Burra Town Hall.

What happened at this year’s AIATSIS Summit 

This year’s AIATSIS Summit was held in Perth on Noongar Boodja, and attended by over 1750 delegates and 400 presenters.

Indigenous leaders, academics, government officials, legal experts, and native title stakeholders met at the summit to celebrate and explore the theme, ‘Navigating the spaces in between’.

Narungga cultural burns

Dozens of small cultural burns were conducted across Guuranda (Yorke Peninsula) last week, reinvigorating the cultural practice on Narungga Country.

It is the second time in recent history that cultural burning has been performed in the region, with support from the Firesticks Alliance.

SA government pushes back state Voice to Parliament elections 

The South Australian government has delayed the introduction of its state-based Voice to Parliament.

Aboriginal Affairs Minister Kyam Maher said the establishment of the state Voice was causing confusion ahead of the national referendum.

The six-month delay means the first SA Voice elections will not be held until March 2024.
