Yitpi Yartapuultiku is the new soul of Port Adelaide. The new Aboriginal cultural centre is now open to the public after an opening event attended by around 10,000 people.

Nearly three decades in the making, Yitpi is led and mostly funded by the City of Port Adelaide Enfield Council.

Aboriginal Way spoke with Kaurna Elder Uncle Lewis O’Brien and Aboriginal Community Lead Rodney Welch onsite. They told us about the importance of the new centre for both the Kaurna community and the local area.
