AW spoke to Voice representative Douglas Clinch Jr about his experience with the inaugural SA Voice to Parliament.
Born and raised in the southern suburbs of Adelaide on Kaurna Country, Mr Clinch has worked in the Aboriginal community sector for over 30 years, including his current role as chair of Neporendi Aboriginal Forum Incorporated.
Mr Clinch has been working as a project officer in the Attorney General’s department and also credits his time working in the Wardliparingga unit at the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) as influential towards his decision to nominate himself for the SA Voice.
During our chat with Mr Clinch we spoke about the preliminary function of the Voice, initial expectations and adjusting to the political processes involved.
