DECISIONS TO BE MADE AT THE MEETINGS

Prior to the meetings, an update in relation to the Kaurna Native Title Claim (Federal Court Action SAD6001/2000) will be given.

At the first authorisation meeting, the KAURNA NATIVE TITLE CLAIM GROUP will be asked to decide whether to authorise an amendment to the existing claim (SAD6001/2000) to:

  • Describe the apical ancestor Nellie Raminyemmermin as Mary Monarto (also known as Nellie Raminyemmermin); and
  • add the proposed Apical Ancestors (see above) as apical ancestors of the claim group.

If the KAURNA NATIVE TITLE CLAIM GROUP so decides, at the second authorisation meeting the PROPOSED KAURNA NATIVE TITLE CLAIM GROUP (as identified by the first meeting) will be asked to decide whether to:

  • authorise a native title determination application in the terms of the existing claim as proposed to be amended; and
  • authorise the present applicant or some other applicant to amend and then continue the existing claim (SAD6001/2000), including any ancillary steps.

At the third authorisation meeting, the RELEVANT KAURNA GROUP** will be asked to decide:

  • whether to authorise the making of a new native title determination application for and on behalf the RELEVANT KAURNA GROUP in respect of an area of land and waters which overlaps the Ngadjuri Nation #2 native title claim SC2011/002, possibly in and around the Clare Valley (see Map 1); or

  • in each case, if a decision to authorise a new application is made:
  • what area of land and waters is to be the subject of the application; and
  • what native title rights and interests are to be claimed; and
  • who is to be authorised as the applicant to make that application.
