Legal Officer – Full time

South Australian Native Title Services (SANTS) is the Native Title Service Provider for South Australia.We work with native title claimants and holders to provide native title services in our state.We are looking for a Legal Officer to work with our existing Legal Team to provide legal services to South Australian Aboriginal communities.

Based in the Adelaide CBD but with some intra and interstate travel, to be successful you will need:

To be admitted as a Solicitor in South Australia with a South Australian practicing certificate.

2-4 years of experience in the legal field, preferably in the area of native title.

To have an understanding and experience of Australian Federal Court procedures.

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Indigenous Australian societies and cultures, and the issues affecting these cultures in Australian society.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the application of the principles of dispute resolution and mediation.

High level communication skills including the ability to provide clear, concise and comprehensive advice both verbally and in writing, within and external to the organisation.

Graduate Finance Officer - Full Time Ongoing

We seek a Graduate Finance Officer within our Business Services Team reporting to our Accountant in providing financial and accounting support to the Finance Team and the wider SANTS organisation. A key requirement of this role is to work with internal and external clients in providing finance duties as part of the SANTS Finance Team.

This is a full-time role based in the Adelaide CBD. To be successful in this role you will have:

Studies towards a Certificate in Finance/Accounting or equivalent (preferable) or accounts payable experience of at least 12 months.

Experience in financial systems (Attache/Reckon/Wiise) or financial databases.

Understanding of financial guidelines and SANTS Policies and Procedures.

Proven organisational and time management skills with demonstrated ability to work autonomously, under pressure and within stringent timeframes.

Demonstrated highly developed communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain relationships with a broad range of people.

Demonstrated advanced administrative skills

Competent in the application of the Microsoft Office Suite.

Competent in the use of computerised accounting systems.

Highly developed customer service skills with proven experience in their application to internal and external customers.

Competent financial management skills.

Interest in and understanding of Indigenous Australian societies and cultures, and the issues affecting these cultures in Australian society.

Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles and practices of Equal Employment Opportunity and Workplace Health and Safety.

SANTS provides opportunities to students doing work experience placements. Anyone wishing to undertake work with SANTS in a work experience, school student or trainee capacity may apply via this website.


SANTS provides opportunities for University students or graduates wishing to undergo an internship at SANTS. Students are placed via the Aurora Internship Program.

The program places Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous students and graduates in full-time unpaid internships for up to 6 weeks.

SANTS values learning and welcomes interns as valued members of the organisation during their internship.
