Admitted as a Practitioner and Barrister of the Supreme Court of South Australia, the High Court and the Federal Courts.

Bio

Michael provides legal advice and advocates for his client’s rights in relation to native title, cultural heritage,  corporate governance, trust, tax, and natural resources law.

Prior to joining SANTS, Michael worked in private practice for an international law firm for three years. When in private practice, Michael worked with Traditional Owners in Far North Queensland when he was seconded to the Cape York Land Council in 2009. In addition, he provided pro bono assistance to SANTS. He is a Law Honours Graduate from Flinders University, and also holds a degree in International Studies.

Michael works with several Aboriginal Communities in South Australia. He is the legal representative of the Wirangu No. 2 and Tjayiwara-Unmuru (De Rose Hill No. 2) native title claims and also provides legal advice to the Yandruwandha Yawarrawarrka Native Title Claim and the Yandruwandha Yawarrawarrka Traditional Land Owners Aboriginal Corporation. Michael also represents a number of Prescribed Body Corporates (the Corporations that hold native title post determination), including the De Rose Hill-Ilpalka Aboriginal Corporation and the Yankunytjatjara Native Title Aboriginal Corporation.
